Never Knowing when to shut up!
I’ve just remembered that April 1st marks 2 years of Gmail. I got my account pretty early on thanks to the fine folks over at Metafilter, but of course Gmail is still in `beta’ which is just insane! Last year we got a present of an extra Gigabyte of storage which was great! I wonder […]
From RTE
The [high] court has found that Limerick County Council has failed in its statutory duty to provide for the accommodation needs of two Co Limerick Traveller families who are seeking halting site accommodation in Kilmallock.
For nearly two years William O’Reilly, his wife and three children, and Arthur Conway, his partner and two children, have […]
It’s been facinating watching the comments related to house prices in Ireland over the past few months. A few months ago it was almost unheard of in the media to express the opinion that house prices were too high and that we might be in a bubble but thankfully this irrational exuberance has been replaced […]
Just watching Primetime now, they interviewed some random punters on the street and they all had a whinge about the Revenue and how they don’t make you aware of your tax entitlements. Why the hell should they? It’s simple to go out and calculate your tax credits and check your payslip. I know loads of […]
Ask Yahoo!, gives a proper answer to a question I didn’t know the proper answer to. That question — Why aren’t there any snakes in Ireland?
I’m following two bubbles at the moment, the first is the Irish property market. The madness there seems to show no sign of abating any time soon. The other bubble is the Google Stock price. F**cked Google does an excellent if extremely unbalanced analysis of the problems with the company’s stratospheric valuation.
For one reason or another I didn’t see this interview with Walter Higgins of PXN8 fame until today. I can’t believe the low number of impressions though. I can’t help but thinking that for all this talk of how you don’t need to be in the Bay Area anymore you do — I bet if Walter was there he’d be turning down Venture Capitalists on a regular basis. Wow, that’s two posts complaining about support for ideas in Ireland in a row!
In the US at the moment, and in general, you can’t turn around if you have an idea without getting Venture Capital. The question is though, how many of the interesting things James mentions will get help?
Someone really needs to stand up to scum like this. If this guy got expelled I bet we’d have a load of people whinging about his constitutional right to education being denied. Via Boards.ie BTW.
My post on the Cork Pyramid scheme has been massively popular. I’ve also been getting a lot of emails from people asking questions about it or alternatively telling me things about it. Louise McBride was one of these — she’s a Sunday Business Post journalist — and today she has loads of articles in the […]
