I’ve been having a bit of a think about where Sky will go next with this (content on demand) and it’s pretty cool to think where they could go. The next step is obviously to have an Internet enabled Sky+ box. This would mean you could download content like this to your box and also and possibly more importantly you could maybe access your recordings on the go via your phone or whatever.

Sky already are moving toward pushing content to your phone so it’s not a quantum leap to think that they may start offering your own recordings on your mobile. That would be pretty cool.

It’s also quite possible that they may see the upcoming rash of DVB-H handsets as a threat to their business with them offering only DVB-S. Perhaps they are frightened that people will see what’s on offer via terrestrial digital TV and then not bother with Sky.

Regardless I’m looking forward to having a Sky box that is internet enabled and allows me to access my recordings wherever I go!
