Meebo IM Client

Meebo IM Client

Tom has been talking about Web 2.0 and has even compiled a list of useful AJAX applications. The reason I’m posting though is that he missed out the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long long while. Meebo is a web-app that takes the place of your IM client.

Basically it’s Trillian in a browser window. Honestly it has to be seen to be believed, I couldn’t get over what I could do when I loaded it up last night. Today I tried it out in work and it worked fine. This is good because we run Solaris in work so I can’t run any of the clients I’m used to. For other it’s a work around for their corporate firewall.

Anyway check it out, I bet you’ll be impressed!

    Thanks for the reminder Dave.

I used Meebo for the first time a couple of weeks ago when IMing Bernard Bernard - the problem I had with it that day was that Bernard wanted to send me a file but Meebo was unaware of the incoming file and couldn’t accept it.

Still, I’m sure it will improve over time.

That’s very true but I suppose from my point of view I’m going from no IM client to this which is great in comparison. But at home I’ll still use Trillian.
