From what I've heard this is to do with Google toolbar data, sites with lots of links get something triggered and then toolbar finds the most popular sections for these links.

Hi guys,

Did anyone actually work out what a site needs to have / to do to get these extra links in place?

Milan, the Google Sitemap for FreeTranslation.com was added after the additional links started to appear in Google's search results. (I know this for a fact because I put it there...)

In fact, a few days after the file was added, the additional links disappeared and then later changed to only display two links rather than four.

I don't think it's got anything to do with Google sitemaps.

Searching for "translation" on Google returns those additional results for FreeTranslation.com, yet that site doesn’t have a Google Sitemap.

I imagine it does it for those sites which have created a Google Sitemap. If you look at the URL on those special results, it points to a variable called "smap." Handy.
