Never Knowing when to shut up!

I haven’t seen Google present search results like this before this morning but since then I’ve seen it a number of times. I’m unsure what exactly are the criteria Google uses to decided whether to do this or not, or whether it’s particularly useful or not but there you go anyway!
Here’s another example of a search that results in this new display format for me.
I imagine it does it for those sites which have created a Google Sitemap. If you look at the URL on those special results, it points to a variable called “smap.” Handy.
I don’t think it’s got anything to do with Google sitemaps.
Searching for "translation" on Google returns those additional results for FreeTranslation.com, yet that site doesn’t have a Google Sitemap.
Well, here you go…
http://www.freetranslation.com/sitemap.xml
Milan, the Google Sitemap for FreeTranslation.com was added after the additional links started to appear in Google’s search results. (I know this for a fact because I put it there…)
In fact, a few days after the file was added, the additional links disappeared and then later changed to only display two links rather than four.
Hi guys,
Did anyone actually work out what a site needs to have / to do to get these extra links in place?
From what I’ve heard this is to do with Google toolbar data, sites with lots of links get something triggered and then toolbar finds the most popular sections for these links.
