Dave’s Rants

Well it’s not quite Monday anymore but since I’m studying like crazy for my exams that start next week I’m going to make allowances. For some reason there’s been a lot of commentary on the Irish blogs today about things that I have differing views on, so I’m going to vent on them a bit here.

First up is the story about RyanAir banning phone chargers. I first heard about this via Damien sometime last week, and I think he summed it up perfectly there. This is a PR stunt people, personally I don’t care how they cut the costs, but a lot of the commentary seems to be quite angry at Ryanair which is exactly what they want. So basically the anti-Ryanair crowd are being totally counter productive.

Next up Bernie talks a bit about the need for a PDA, personally I don’t think they’re going to be around much more. A phone with a smattering of PDA functions is what I want. Pen and Paper will do fine for everything else!

Also during the weekend I added Dr. Who to my Bittorrent RSS Feed reader. I watched an episode of the show a couple of weeks back and I enjoyed it, so I added it to the subscription list. I’ll do a post in the future of other shows I subscribe to, but one of the ones I’m looking forward to is Family Guy, which apparently is available online now!
