2004 Predictions

The Guardian have made a number of predictions for 2004, following on from last year, where they did the same and almost were 100% correct. I’d agree with most of them, except they reckon that Howard Dean will be trounced by Bush. I couldn’t disagree more. It will be extremely close with either candidate winning by at most 3%.

New Design for 2004

Well as I’m sure you’ve spotted Dave’s Rants is now featuring a new design. I’ve also changed some of the internals so hopefully, I’ll be able to change sections of the site far more painlessly.

Ask Yahoo! Best of 2003

Well the advantage of it nearly being 2004, the disadvantage being I’m one year older, is that we get more of the end of the year lists! Ask Yahoo! have their end of year list of questions, and of course answers!

Top Ten Lists!

YourDictionary.com a site I hadn’t even heard of before appears to “The Web’s most complete language resource”. Now I doubt I’d be the only one to dispute that, since I’ve never heard of it but do use Dictionary.com and that seems to be the one a lot of other people use. Regardless of my ramblings yourDictionary exists and has published a load of Top Ten lists of 2003. Being male, I have an inbuilt love of lists so +1 for yourDictionary in my book.

Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King

I won’t say much because there seems to be a million sites reviewing every minute detail of this film. But I loved it. It looked amazing. As has been written in a million other places the ending drags a little but only because Peter Jackson stays true to the book’s ending. Go see it!

24 3.08 [8.00PM - 9.00PM]

As usual 24 couldn’t quite keep up to the previous weeks standards. This always seems to happen when the previous week’s episode is amazing, all the same though it was better than 90% of the shows out there. I keep having to remind myself that they’re only 1/3rd of the the way through the series and that there are a hell of a lot more twists and turns in the plot to go!

Where I’ve Been?

Well in case you haven’t noticed it’s been a long time since I last posted! It’s been a crazy past 7 - 10 days with just way too many Christmas parties and things. I’ve got all my last minute Christmas shopping done, except the wrapping paper, and I’ve been productive too.

24 3.07 [7.00PM - 8.00PM]

Just when you think you have an idea of what is going on…..BAM! Well, once again, the writers of 24 have surprised me, they really shouldn’t anymore, but I’m sure they will again. In a shocker we see Kim in trouble (yep I’m being sarcastic) but at least it doesn’t last 14 episodes this time and more like 14 minutes! Thank you writers! The episode really did rock and I’m wondering just how many more twists and turns the series can take!

Stargate SG-1 7.12 [Evolution (2)]

In the US they have to wait months to see the resolution of the previous episode but here we only had to wait one week and that was still too long for me! But at least it was great episode. The episode has really set up the season well for a really good finale which I can’t wait to see.

I want my iPod back

Well not really, I just want to feel a bit special again. I got my iPod around a year ago at this stage, and I was pretty much the only person who I knew that had one. I felt important, but now every Joe Soap has one and with the iPod set to be a big seller this Christmas my status will be diminished ever more!
