Never Knowing when to shut up!
It’s a pity that the US media are so spineless when it comes to reporting. I was watching Fox News last night and I’ve decided that there isn’t a man who can make my blood boil more that Bill O’Reilly. The man is an absolute disgrace. He talks about it being the No Spin Zone and how Fox News is you’re source for fair and balanced news, but all I see is right-wing, liberal bashing, racism. I’m going to have a post later that deals with Israeli non-compliance with the UN and how I’d support military action on Iraq if we were willing to use force to make Israel comply. But does Bill tell us of the numerous Israeli violations, no didn’t think so.

Fox News is so biased, remember when Jr.’s version of the GUlf War started?
They were focusing on how “SHOCK AND AWE”—does anyone remember that?—was going to be such an awesome force, and even when we had those early, frequent and surprising (well, at least to some arrogant U.S. officials) setbacks, they were barely covered.
FOX is so biased, every time I watch it it reminds me of Brave New World and Farenheit 451, or a Twilight Zone where the government feeds a zoned out populace their daily diet of ‘news’.
It’ll be interesting to see how they cover the huge protests that will occur against Bush next week.
Fox News sucks. It’s nothing but “fair and balanced” bullshit. BBC News is better than what we have here in the States. At least they are neutral when it comes to news.

I’ve never heard a more ignorant, slanted, spun and manufactured news bumper than I have from Fox. Even military giant General Electric, parent company of NBC wouldn’t stoop as low as fascist Fox News. As the propaganda remix man outs it: “Ein Volk. Ein Reich. Ein Furher. Ein News Channel.”
You know it’s not real news when they use sound effects. Fox News is where ugly white bigots are free to lie to their choir.
We got fired up after watching the “OutFoxed” documentary, and started this site to distribute cable filters for blocking Fox News Channel out. We call it FoxBlocker.com, and our motto is “Shut the FOX up!”.
Use our online tool to tailor and send a bushel of emails to the advertisers telling them that you are blocking Fox entirely, their brand is screwed for promoting Pox News & their propaganda, and shouldn’t they be spending money elsewhere?
We’ll be sharing any (if and when) profits with progressive/anti-fascist organizations. We would appreciate any small mention and will definitely reciprocate links.

a little note about the FOX Blocker, if you are comunist enough, and want your fox blocked for free. call your cable company, they have to do it at no charge. I work for a cable company. I have never had to block Fox News, but i have had to block Mtv and Comedy Central a few times. dont wast your money on the fox blocker.

Just blocking it with your cable company doesn’t accomplish the goal of FOXBlocker. The goal is not to stop FOX News, rather it is to get them to DISCLOSE that they are a right wing machine. Once they do this, I cease to have a problem with them. The big issue is that FOX represents itself as fair and balanced, when they are not. This leads to an environment where people take the propaganda generated by FOX news at face value, without thinking. This is dangerous to the democracy.

The most compelling argument againts Fox News is that is is not reporting of news events, but rather, talk radio on TV. They have evening shows, rather than an ongoing reporting of stories. Saddest even is that it has influenced CNN to do the same.

I think if you’d want unbiased news, you’d have to watch several news channels. Getting al your news from one channel is bad, try and get information from as many resources as possible. That includes Fox News. As for the ‘brainwashing’ by the ‘Left Wing Empire’, the ‘Right Wing Empire’ is doing just that to all the right wing folks…

America’s plan of imperialism has been going on for many years. They have set up client states all over the world where they call the shots and control entire economies. The most important client state has been and still is, Israel. It is Bush’s police guard dog in the Middle East.
Iraq was also a client state until Sadam Hussein stopped complying with the U.S. under father Bush and then again under W. Bush. Where in both instances he faced military assault. Iran also fell under the same category and their turn to face US wrath may be coming soon.
In fact, Bush senior’s association with Hussein began around 1958 when Bush was with the CIA. Hussein was implicated in a botched assassination of the then president of Iraq.
Eventually the US gave Hussein (who was not an intellectual but just a thug - and therefore easier to control), the presidency of Iraq. In the 80s the US administration took Iraq off the list of terrorist countries so they could convince congress to allow the sale arms to that country.
Iraq then bombed Kurdish towns in the north part of the country using chemical warheads, which the US new and allowed. Later Hussein started to rebel and go against the wishes and interests of the US. Bush senior responded first in the early nineties and then his son finished him off.
The Iraqi invasion or the campaign of terror on the country’s people, under George W. Bush, was responsible for close to 100,000 Iraqi deaths, many of which included women and children.
Bush junior, however, knew that he had no reason to invade Iraq so he had to make one up. He declared that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and that Hussein was associated with Usama Bin Laden (both of which were a farce).
He timed the latter with the 911 attack in order to create fear and to manufacture the consent of the American people.
These and many other events in between were never given much attention by the American media. Most of which, in fact, were completely ignored. The reason is as follows:
The American economic system is run by corporations. Many of the heads of these corporations end up in positions of power at all levels of government.
The news organizations are also run by big corporations which share common interests. And as a result, you have a huge propaganda machine whose engine is fired up by all the major media networks.
I just saw on fox news that they were saying that voting democrat was supporting terrorism… WOW.. Fox new really needs to pull there head out of the neo Nazi asses

I do think Fox is very, very biased in favor of the Republican agenda in how, what, and when they air their reports. I like BBS, but it is does lean very slightly in favor of the democrats also, but not nearly to the degree of Fox.
Forcing the news industries to disclose a political agenda would be bad, and it would only further damage relations between the parties. That action would make it a more efficient for either party to use the news as a tool- even against the interests of the public.
I stopped watching television four months ago, and I’ve never been happier. Being unplugged from the mainstream crud that’s being fed to U.S. citizens has given me a better perspective about what is really going on.
We, as americans, need to be willing to separate our party from our beliefs. Would you give over your spirit to a large company because it means you might win? No. Large companies do not feel, or believe anything. The only things that interest a large entity is its own survival- the two main parties of the united states have become too powerful. Their influence is damaging the freedoms and rights of the United States peoples. Just like two grubbing corporations, the two parties have hedged out all other stands by turning the process into a two sided coin… left and right, black and white, day and night, darkness and light, peace and fight… in the end the what the people really want is drowned out by the yelling, and they must choose between two evils.
Where I stand- I’m probably what would have been considered a republican a little over a century ago. I favor small, efficient (oxymoron, but meh) governments, that dabble very little in the affairs of individuals. I prefer lower taxes to higher taxes. I like to have representatives that share my beliefs. But the parties have changed.
They’ve become enslaved to themselves, and with them the free will of society.
